SIGCOMM’s Initiatives bring together the many ways we support, connect, and broaden our global networking community. These activities span travel opportunities, diversity and inclusion efforts, mentoring and engagement programs, and regional capacity‑building. Our goal is to ensure that researchers, students, and practitioners from all backgrounds and regions can participate fully in the SIGCOMM community, through conferences, research dissemination, and professional development. SIGCOMM’s ongoing commitments include Travel Grants that help students and early‑career researchers attend our events, such as the GeoDiversity Travel Grants aimed at researchers from historically under‑represented regions; Diversity and Inclusion initiatives such as the Ambassadors Program, Regional Centers, and access to a SIGCOMM Diversity Coordinator; Conference Pods that enable remote participation for those in underrepresented regions; and broader community outreach activities highlighted in SIGCOMM’s public mission and homepage.
